Taking Group Policy Software For A Test Drive
How is it done? In a word: easy. We want you to get the most out of your PolicyPak experience. Here's how to get started.
Step 1: Register with PolicyPak
This is the easy part. However, we do request that you sign up for your (free) PolicyPak Software account. This will enable you to download our trial software. You don't have to buy anything in order to test out PolicyPak, but you do need to register. To get started click "Create an account online" on the right.
Step 2: Confirm the email address.
We want to make sure we know where to deliver the trial software. So await the registration email confirmation, and click on the link.
Step 3: Check your email for your download link
Once you confirm your email address, we'll send you your own private download link. Click it, and you'll have it in hand.
Step 4: Try it out!
The trial software is delivered as an ISO file, not a ZIP file. This way, if you have a virtual environment, you can test it out right away as a "mounted ISO file." Or, you can burn your own CD-ROM from the provided download. All of our software is contained in the ONE download.
You'll also find out PolicyPak QuickStart / User Guide. This has all the step-by-steps you'll need to try out PolicyPak in your test environment and give it a shot.
Some tips for PolicyPak Software trial mode
We want you to really give us a fair shakedown as you make a decision. So we've made it easy for you. Here are some notes.
Trial Mode Tips
We cover this in the PolicyPak Qiuckstart guide, but it bears repeating here. Our PolicyPak software will work 100% of the time if the computer has the word "computer" in the name.
So, our suggestion is to create 3 or 4 test computers: Computer1, Computer2, Computer3 and so on. Then, no matter what user you log on with, our PolicyPak software trial will work as if it's fully licensed.
When you are fully licensed, you can freely use any user or computer name.
Understanding "Community Mode" for PolicyPak Professional With PolicyPak Design Studio
Community Mode is our gift to the Active Directory and Group Policy Software community at large. PolicyPak Software Founder, Jeremy Moskowitz, Group Policy MVP is highly involved with the Group Policy Software community and wanted to give something back. We're happy to provide, free of charge, PolicyPak Professional in Community Mode.
Community Mode allows the following:
- Any user name (no restrictions)
- Any computer name (no restrictions)
- One compiled PolicyPak project
- 25 Elements within that one PolicyPak project
- The PolicyPak CSE (client piece) will process the very first PolicyPak you create, and only honor those settings
So, in short, our gift to you is the ability to create 100% free of charge your very own PolicyPak for any software you wish. However, to overcome the one PolicyPak 25 element limit and create an unlimited number of PolicyPak projects, you will need to be licensed.
Why are we doing this? We want you to enjoy Group Policy Software even more, and, also, it gives you the opportunity to create your own PolicyPaks and share them at the PolicyPak Trading Post (coming soon) with other PolicyPak entheusiasts.
